SRAT

SRAT is the union for specialists, qualified administrators and managers working in health, communication and public administration.

Our members include audiologists, chiropractors, opticians and dental technicians. SRAT’s other members include diplomats, coast pilots and perfusionists as well as qualified administrators and specialists in a whole range of government agencies and private companies.

Who can join?

State sector

Members are drawn from groups with duties that require specific qualifications or who work in management. Swedish Public Employment Service, Swedish Armed Forces, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, Swedish Customs, Swedish Coast Guard and Swedish Maritime Administration, are among the agencies with many SRAT members.

Local government sector

Members include dental technicians, audiologists, opticians, perfusionists, healthcare advisors, and health educators.

Private sector

Members include dental technicians, opticians, chiropractors, flight technicians, healthcare advisors and others with at least 180 ECTS credits. Posten and TeliaSonera are two companies with a large number of SRAT members.

Students

Anyone studying on a course that leads to qualification for one of the jobs named above is welcome to join SRAT.

Membership of SRAT has lots of benefits:

  • SRAT signs collective agreements which help you to influence your salary, your terms of employment and your career.
  • We represent you to your employer, for instance in redundancy negotiations.
  • We help you to secure a better wage and better terms of employment, both through individual advice and through representing you in negotiations.
  • Our insurance schemes make you more secure, for instance our SRAT HälsoSkydd scheme with healthcare advisors and SRAT income insurance.
  • Our profession-specific associations lobby for the interests of your profession. Our lobbying work has led, for example, to a licensing system for audiologists. Similar measures are on the way for other groups.
  • Other benefits of SRAT membership include loans at favourable rates, discounted newspaper subscriptions and discounted electricity.
