Saco - The Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations
Saco is a trade union confederation of 23 affiliated associations which together have over 600 000 members. Members are university graduates or professionals with a college degree. The members include employees, students, researchers, self-employed people and retired professionals. Members include economists, lawyers, physiotherapists, graduate engineers, doctors, teachers and members of many other professions.

Saco’s work and vision
Saco assists its affiliated associations by analysing, debating and forming public opinion on matters of concern for the associations and their members. The hallmark of Saco is high quality analysis. Saco publishes reports, arranges seminars, provides op-eds and participates in many different contexts with a view to influencing political decisions. Saco is politically independent.
Saco represents Swedish university graduates. The objective of the confederation is to promote a society with high economic growth and knowledge-based prosperity. Education and research should be regarded as important investments for society as a whole as well as for the individual. Education and research are key components of economic growth and social development.
