The Swedish Dental Association – SDA

The Swedish Dental Association (SDA) organizes dentists in Sweden. The SDA deals with issues affecting the role of dentists in the community, like professional ethics, education and science.

The overall goal of the Swedish Dental Association is to work to promote education, knowledge, quality and expertise among Swedish dentists and Swedish dental healthcare. The SDA's extensive programme of professional continuous education courses and the Annual Swedish Dental Congress are examples of the association's activities.

The association has about 7500 members and is part of Saco.

The Swedish Dental Association has its own periodical: The Journal of the Swedish Dental Association – a monthly magazine which include news and comments on issues such as dental policy and odontology.

The SDA work closely with these four member organisations:

Tjänstetandläkarföreningen (Swedish Association of Public Dental Officers)
Sveriges Odontologiska Lärare (Association of Odontology Teachers) in swedish
Studerandeföreningen (Association of Dentistry Students) in swedish
Tandläkare - egen verksamhet (dentists with their own practice) in swedish
