Saco-S requests negotiations with LU regarding recording of lectures
During the summer, LU sent out an instruction to the organisation to introduce digital note-taking support with the help of Teams and CoPilot for students with learning support.
LU believes that this can be done with the support of a Vice-Chancellor's decision from 2012. Saco-S, on the other hand, believes that this is not possible. The decision at the time was about the copyright issues surrounding recordings and personal integrity. The legal situation has changed significantly since then. The present instruction may be in conflict with GDPR, the handling of personal data and personal integrity. Saco-S can also see how the proposed solution is directly problematic in several different teaching situations. Therefore, we have requested negotiations with the employer to investigate the issue further.
