Arbetsbrist

Begrepp inom arbetsrätten. Arbetsbrist kan innebära att arbetsgivaren saknar arbetsuppgifter att erbjuda vilket leder till uppsägningar. Det kan också vara en situation där ett företag vill minska kostnader eller förändra verksamheten med personalminskning som följd. Arbetsbrist uppstår när företag tar bort befattningar i sin organisation. Arbetsgivaren ska utreda möjligheten till omplacering. I de fall där omplacering inte är möjlig, tillämpas turordningsreglerna i LAS.

Shortage of work

A term within labour law. A shortage of work may entail that an employer has no tasks to offer, which leads to notice being given/redundancies. It may also be a situation in which a company wants to reduce costs or change activities, with staff reductions as a result.  A shortage of work occurs when a company removes positions from its organisation. The employer must investigate opportunities for re-allocation. In cases where re-allocation is not possible, the provisions of the Swedish Employment Protection Act (LAS) relating to order of priority are applied.
